The Village and more, much more! 

The Village is called "the beautiful crown jewel of the Northern California Coast!" by magazines that promote the North California Coast. Many travel experts consistently rate the Village of Mendocino “most picturesque town”. 

Established in the 1850's, many of the New England style Victorians are lovingly restored.  The streets are full of quaint shops, art galleries and shops that please all pallets.  From discriminating lovers of everything “art” to somewhat quirky shops that offer everything from mementos of your visit, original jewelry, herbs and incense or T-shirts confirming that you have visited Mendocino. 

World class fine dining or everyday fare is available at many excellent restaurants. As is great organic coffee, delicious breads, micro-brewed pints, wine tasting and a wide variety of take out.  Wonderful hand made Ice Cream served with chocolate covered frozen cherries at Frankie’s is a delight to satisfy your sweet tooth. We have a variety of offerings to please all taste.

We have a bookstore and a library that I adore, live theater, a local pharmacist who remembers your name and maladies, groceries, hardware, videos, health food store, doctors, dentist, acupuncturist and a hospital nearby in Fort Bragg. 

Between the Victorian Inns and shops, hidden away on less traveled village streets or on roads stretching outward from Mendocino are homes.  Homes where shop keepers, artist, teachers and yes, real estate agents live.  If you are lucky, maybe someday you will join us.
